TremTracker is designed to assist clinicians and patients to monitor tremors and adjust medication by providing information on the parameters of the tremor pre and post medication.Briefly, we take advantage of smartphones’ sensors to record objective measures of tremor (i.e., x, y and z position of the patients’ hand over a pre-defined temporal window).
This app comes with customizable alarms so that the clinician can set a protocol for pre and post medication recordings, allowing for an objective assessment of the effect of dosage/treatment on the patients’ symptoms.
In the current version, the recordings are stored as text files that can be used to analyze the intensity and frequency of the patients’ tremors, and to adjust treatment accordingly.
Moreover, after the recording, the app estimates, for each axis (i.e., x, y and z), the frequency of the tremor and shows it on screen.
Future versions will include a graphical output of the data collected.
